₹6 Crore Reward For Two Asian Games Gold Medals 🥇🇮🇳

Indian kabaddi star Arjun Deshwal has been part of India’s gold-medal-winning men’s teams at two consecutive Asian Games. After the 2023 triumph, the Uttar Pradesh government announced a ₹3 crore reward for him. In 2026, India successfully defended its kabaddi title by defeating Iran 40-34, with Deshwal again playing a key role.

Following the 2026 Asian Games gold, the UP government announced another ₹3 crore cash award for Deshwal — taking the announced rewards for his two Asian Games gold medals to ₹6 crore.

Two Asian Games. Two gold medals. ₹6 crore in announced rewards — how far can such recognition go in motivating India’s next generation of athletes?
