The Trail Blazers have a 2% chance of winning the Western Conference on kalshi

The Ja Morant era in the Pacific Northwest could not have scripted a more electric opening chapter. Thousands of roaring fans packed into the Moda Center for the annual Trail Blazers Fan Fest, eager to catch their very first glimpse of the explosive superstar donning Portland colors alongside the long-awaited return of franchise icon Damian Lillard. From the opening tip, the energy in the building felt like a playoff atmosphere, signaling that basketball excitement in Rip City has officially reached a fever pitch.

More than just putting on a show, Morant looked in peak physical condition and completely unleashed. Moving with effortless burst, elite lateral quickness, and that vintage aerial bounce, he looked every bit like the unstoppable superstar who once crashed the NBA MVP conversation. After a fiercely competitive four-quarter scrimmage finished locked in a 96 to 96 tie, new head coach Micah Nori dialed up a dramatic half-court shootout to decide the contest. Stepping up to the center pinwheel logo, Morant launched an ice-cold heave that ripped through nothing but net, sending the crowd into a frenzy and securing MVP honors voted by the fans.

This showcase proved that Morant is locked in, healthy, and energized by a fresh start with zero outside noise to distract him. Pairing a rejuvenated, MVP-caliber Ja Morant with a healthy Damian Lillard gives the Trail Blazers one of the most terrifying backcourts in basketball. If this preseason debut is any indication of what is coming, the Western Conference is on notice. How dangerous will Portland be once this duo hits the regular season floor?
