Let’s call that the Hudson Williams effect! 👏

This Wednesday, Hudson Williams and the cast of ‘Heated Rivalry’ attended the Kate Spade New York Global Summit on Women’s Mental Health, and fans immediately fell for Hudson’s cute blue cardigan.

The event also marked the kickoff of the Irina Foundation, a real-life foundation inspired by the 'Heated Rivalry' book series that will champion LGBTQ+ and underserved communities to participate in sports and the arts.

The internet did its thing and discovered that the “Journey” sweater was designed by Canada-based Indigenous designer Justin Jacob Louis. Then, the internet did its thing AGAIN selling out the cardigan within an hour of Hudson wearing it! 🤩

Speaking to Indigenous writer Christian Allaire at Vogue about the impact of the sales, Justin said, “It’s pretty surreal…it’s cool when somebody who has that much influence sees and appreciates your work.”

Even more meaningfully, Hudson wore the Indigenous-designed sweater on Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which honours the history and ongoing legacy of Indigenous children who were forcibly taken from their homes and sent to residential schools. 🧡

Justin also told Christian that Hudson’s team was so determined to get the sweater in time for the event that one of his team members drove to Justin’s home in Vancouver to pick it up!
