Growing up just ten minutes down the road from Adare, brothers Zach and Aaron spend plenty of their days running around their grandparents’ farm, exploring the fields, helping with the cows and finding all the little adventures that come with growing up in the countryside.

We met them on a Sunday stroll through Adare Park with their family, where they were busy doing what little boys do best: collecting treasures, exploring and showing us what they had found.

When we asked how old they were, Zach needed a little reminder before proudly telling us he was three, while his big brother Aaron is six.

Aaron had been collecting little treasures from the park, carefully tucked into the scarf wrapped around his neck. Zach, meanwhile, had discovered perhaps the greatest treasure of all: a stick.

Both boys have had a little go at golf and Zach was quick to let us know that he is quite the golfer. But when it comes to their favorite sport, their hearts belong to hurling, a game that has been part of Irish life for generations.

They call Patrickswell, where they live, a lovely town. Their favorite thing to do together is play football and when they’re at their grandparents’ farm, there are cows to look after, fields to run through and plenty of room to play.

For now, their days are filled with hurling, football, rugby and farm adventures.

But with the Ryder Cup coming to Adare, they’ve already decided that once it passes through town, they might just have to play a little more golf.

This is Adare, through the eyes of two brothers growing up just down the road.

Meet Liz. Hostess at Aunty Lena’s and one of the people who makes sure nobody walks through the door without feeling welcome.

Liz has worked here for nearly four years and although she is small in stature, she makes up for it in personality. Auny Lena’s gets people from all walks of life - Weddings, tour buses, locals, golfers and visitors from all over the world. She’s seen them all. And she’ll tell you, the golfers are great craic.

Originally from just down the road, Liz grew up as a farmer’s daughter and knows this part of Ireland like the back of her hand. She loves Adare for its beauty, but even more so
