Japan has been testing TRG035, an antibody designed to block USAG 1, a protein involved in regulating tooth development. The research aims to stimulate dormant tooth forming capacity, particularly in people born without some teeth. A Phase I clinical trial in healthy adults began in 2024 and focused primarily on safety and pharmacokinetics alone.
