The resemblance is actually uncanny 👀

Jeremy Allen White has revealed he'd love to play legendary actor Gene Wilder in an upcoming biopic about his life.

The 35 year old, best known for The Bear, was asked about the role during an appearance on the Today show, after fans pointed out his striking resemblance to the late Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory star.

Speaking about Wilder, he said: "Absolutely, it would be my honor," before adding: "I need the call."

A biopic is already in development, with director Dito Montiel attached after securing the rights from Wilder's estate.

White has previously portrayed Bruce Springsteen on the big screen and admitted that playing real life figures comes with enormous pressure.
Despite that, he's clearly keen to take on Wilder's story, although no casting has been confirmed.
