GOOGLE IS BRINGING AI TRAINING DIRECTLY TO THE YARD.

Today, Morgan State University students are getting hands-on access to something that’s quickly becoming one of the biggest career questions facing college graduates:

How do you actually use AI—not just talk about it?

Morgan State is hosting the Google HBCU RISE Summit today, October 5, at its University Student Center in Baltimore.

The free program is focused on practical AI skills students can use both inside the classroom and as they prepare for careers.

Today’s programming includes an opening keynote and panel discussion, hands-on workshops and breakout sessions, plus a Gemini Lounge where students can explore Google’s AI tools.

And that distinction matters.

College students are entering a workforce where simply having a degree may not be enough. Employers increasingly expect graduates to understand how emerging technology can improve research, communication, productivity and creative work.

For HBCU students, access matters too.

It’s one thing to hear constantly that AI will reshape the workforce.

It’s another thing to put the technology, training and companies building it directly in front of students while they’re still on campus.

The question for HBCUs now isn’t whether AI is coming.

It’s whether our students will simply consume it—or be positioned to build careers with it.

👇🏾 Should every HBCU require students to take an AI literacy course before graduation?
