## Caption

The dramatic cliffs of Étretat in the north of France were the inspiration of 50 oil paintings by Claude Monet - and it’s easy to see why!  We only stayed for a few hours, but it’s a place that I’ve been thinking about since we’ve left. Between 1883 and 1886 Monet studied and painted the landscape, capturing the fleeting light, colors, dramatic scenery and waves. Étretat is about 3 hrs away from Paris by car, but is worth a stop if you visit the Normandy in the north of France! #etretat #étretat #etretatfrance #normandyfrance #visitfrance
