You need to add this unique place in Idaho to your bucket list 🪐 truly feels like another planet 🌋

📍 Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve

Here are some things you need to do here:

🚗 Drive the Loop Road: 7 miles, about 30 minutes, and it connects to almost every stop below
🌋 Hike Inferno Cone: Only 0.4 miles but steep, with 360° views over the Great Rift and the Snake River Plain at the top
🔥 Spatter Cones & Big Craters: A short, steep trail to the rim of Big Craters, the only spot on the loop where you look down into a volcano
🕳️ Walk through Indian Tunnel: The largest lava tube cave in the park, about 800 ft long. You need a free cave permit from the visitor center first!
🌲 Devils Orchard: An easy trail through lava fragments and twisted trees
🥾 Broken Top Loop: 2 miles and one of the most varied hikes in the park
✨ Stay for the stars: The park is open 24 hours while the Loop Road is open, and the night sky is incredible

Make sure to go between spring and fall, since the Loop Road closes to cars in winter.

Save this for your next Idaho road trip ✨
