Don’t miss probably the prettiest Christmas market in Germany, the Striezelmarkt in Dresden 🎄

We stayed at the Star G Hotel Premium Dresden Altmarkt, right on the square with a view over the market, and seeing the stalls light up below our window was truly unreal.

Good to know:

It’s Germany’s oldest Christmas market. It was first documented in 1434, and this is its 592nd year.
There are 200+ stalls of Saxon handicrafts, plus the giant Christmas pyramid.
The Stollenfest is on the second Advent weekend, and the Pyramid Festival is on the third.

What to eat:

Dresdner Christstollen, the original Dresden stollen
Pflaumentoffel, a little figure made of prunes and Dresden’s good-luck charm
