Familial hyperlipidemia is a genetic condition where plaque can begin building much earlier in life, increasing the risk of premature heart attack and cardiovascular disease if it goes undiagnosed and untreated.

If you have:
• LDL cholesterol ≥180 mg/dL
• A family history of very high cholesterol
• A parent, sibling, or child who had a heart attack or cardiovascular disease at a young age

…it may be worth asking whether familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) could be the reason.
