juliannemoore knows what she likes. Her taste may have evolved over the years, but a love of modernism, and a meticulous eye for the details, has followed her from home to home.

In her new West Village duplex, Moore and her brother-in-law, #AD100 architectural designer Oliver Freundlich (oliverfreundlichdesign), brought that point of view to a prewar setting. In the library, existing taupe-lacquered bookcases were preserved and worked into the new scheme, while newer finds—from a Pierre Chapo table to Charles Pfister seating for Knoll—sit comfortably alongside them. Nothing, it seems, escaped Moore’s attention during the eight-month renovation. “Believe me, Julie scrutinized every switch and knob,” Freundlich says.
