## Caption

For the first time, scientists have recorded the inside of a tokamak fusion reactor in color, capturing its plasma at an incredible 16,000 frames per second. 🔥

The plasma only exists for about 0.2 seconds during each pulse, making it far too fast to properly observe with the naked eye. The high-speed footage gives researchers a much closer look by slowing the event down.

That striking pink glow mostly comes from the visible light produced near the outer region of the plasma. The core itself reaches temperatures far beyond what we see in the footage.

The ultimate goal? Recreate the same basic fusion process that powers the Sun and turn it into a practical source of energy here on Earth. ☀️⚡

Fusion could potentially generate enormous amounts of electricity using relatively small quantities of fuel, without producing carbon emissions during operation and with significantly less long-lived radioactive waste than conventional nuclear fission.

If researchers can successfully scale the technology, fusion could completely transform how we generate energy.

Would you trust fusion to become a major energy source of the future? 🤔💬
