4 months of training. Still rehabbing my ACL surgery from last year. A calf injury that benched me for 3 weeks and had me wondering if I’d even make it to the start line. But tomorrow, I give it everything I have for my dad 💙

A few weeks after he passed, I signed up for the american_heart marathon team waitlist, looking for a way to honor him. A few days before my birthday, I got a voicemail saying a spot had opened up. I couldn’t stop crying. I just kept saying, “thank you, jojo.”

It felt like he knew exactly how bad I needed this and worked some magic.

These 4 months have kept me going. I’ve talked to my dad on runs. Cried on runs. Felt him with me in ways I didn’t expect. And I’ve been surrounded by so much love from family and friends the whole way through.
