I believed my worth was entirely tied to my academic choices. Coming from an Asian household, the options felt limited: medicine, engineering, law, or accounting. I ended up choosing Chemical Engineering for one reason. It was the degree the smartest kid in class was taking, and I wanted to prove my intelligence.

In this video, I’m opening up about the reality of choosing a degree for validation, paying my own way as an international student, and the massive identity crisis I faced when I graduated. Despite graduating with a 91% average and a Master's degree, I chose to walk away from a traditional engineering career to pursue content creation to financially support my family after the pandemic. If you are struggling with tying your entire identity to your major, your grades, or a specific job title, this video is for you.
