AI/CC Global Awareness & Impact Challenge | October 2026

Some species have lived beside us for thousands of years — and are now moving dangerously close to extinction.

Others have already disappeared.

For our first AI/CC Global Awareness & Impact Challenge, we invite our creative community to use generative art and filmmaking to bring attention to endangered, critically endangered, or recently extinct species.

Launching around World Rhino Day, September 22, and World Gorilla Day, September 24, VANISHING ICONS begins with two extraordinary species but opens a much wider conversation about biodiversity loss and the animals we may be at risk of losing.

THE CHALLENGE
Choose one endangered, critically endangered, or recently extinct animal species.

Create an original AI-assisted artwork or short film that gives visibility to the species, its story, the threats it faces, or what its disappearance would mean.

Your interpretation can be emotional, conceptual, documentary-inspired, surreal, symbolic or speculative. We encourage you to approach the subject through your own visual language.

The goal is not simply to create a beautiful image.

Make people stop. Look. Learn. Care.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Create your work around one species and send your submission to:

aicccreators@gmail.com

Please include:
▪ Artist name\
▪ Country\
▪ Instagram handle and/or portfolio\
▪ Species represented\
▪ A short description of the work\
▪ A few lines about the species, why you chose it, and the threats it faces

For videos, please submit a downloadable link if the file is too large for email.

Format: 9:16 or 16:9\
Deadline: October 30

The challenge is open to creators worldwide. Submitted work must be original and created by the participant.

Works will be considered for their creativity, visual impact, connection to the theme, storytelling, responsible representation, and overall execution.

VANISHING ICONS is the beginning of a new chapter for AI/CC: using the collective imagination.
