STITCHED BACK TOGETHER — MARINA PERUNKOVA

What does it mean to feel whole when everything around us — and within us — is constantly changing?

In this series, AI/CC Featured Artist Marina Perunkova turns to torn fabric, threads, layered textures, and collage-like compositions to explore the instability and vulnerability of human experience.

Life, memory, and identity appear almost as materials themselves: tearing apart, being stitched and glued back together, then rearranged into forms that no longer resemble what came before.

There is a quiet tension in the idea that one day everything might finally settle into place. Yet Marina questions whether that state of permanence ever truly arrives. Instead, we continue reconstructing ourselves — adapting, repairing, rearranging, and beginning again.

The work becomes a meditation on fragility, memory, transformation, and the endless process of putting ourselves back together.
