IN BETWEEN — MARINA PERUNKOVA

What happens when one home has already disappeared, but the new place does not yet feel like home?

In this deeply personal series, AI/CC Featured Artist Marina Perunkova explores the emotional uncertainty of transition — the strange space between what has been left behind and what has not yet become familiar.

New sounds. New routes. Different light through the windows. A different relationship with space.

For Marina, these seemingly ordinary changes create an unexpected sense of dissonance. Without the familiar markers of home, stability gives way to a feeling of being suspended somewhere in between — accompanied by stress and an especially sharp longing for belonging.

The series resonates with Marina’s wider artistic exploration of the inner self: how our internal worlds respond to change, external circumstances, and moments when our usual sense of grounding is disrupted.

Here, home becomes more than a physical place. It is a psychological and emotional state — something that may take time to rebuild within ourselves.
