Journey to Baby Holmes 🤍 | Part 1: The Diagnosis

I want to share our journey through the unknown of infertility.

My prayer is that this 3-part series blesses those who are currently on their own fertility journey, encourages those praying for a miracle (no matter what the situation looks like) and brings awareness to those who may not understand what so many women and couples quietly go through.

For four years, no one knew what my husband and I were praying for behind closed doors. No one knew the conversations, the disappointment, the questions, or the faith we were holding onto.

And honestly, I didn’t know what the journey ahead would look like either.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 🤍

In 2022, I was diagnosed with PCOS. At the time, I wasn’t knowledgeable about PCOS or how it could affect fertility. I just knew I wanted to become a mom, and I was hopeful that Clomid would be the answer.
I remember getting that solid smiley face on my ovulation test,the one that told me I was ovulating. I had never seen it before my diagnosis, so in my mind, I thought, “Okay… this is going to work.” I was hopeful. I believed this was finally going to be our breakthrough.
But after 3 rounds of Clomid, we were told there was nothing more they could do for us through my OBGYN’s office, and we were referred to a fertility specialist.

I remember feeling completely hopeless.
I didn’t know what that referral meant.
I didn’t know what came next.
I didn’t know how much longer we would have to wait.
And I definitely didn’t know that this was only the beginning.

Looking back now, I can see that God was preparing me for a journey I couldn’t see yet.

This was the beginning of our 4-year journey to Baby Holmes. 🤍
