🚩None of this was created with AI🏁

I created this because a part of me feels disappointed, discouraged, and a bit defeated as a designer/creative/artist.

Stuff like this used to take me hours to do in photoshop . Now it takes me about an hour or two. Not because of AI, but because I put time in to become so good at it that I can do it with my eyes closed.

But if I told somebody else to make this, the first thing they would do is upload their photos to an app and look for a prompt to use.

Me? I still search for that feeling of accomplishing something that I did on my own. Taking my own photos, building a composition, using the pen tool in photoshop that took me years to master, blending, color grading, manipulating light, shadows etc. All the things that you need to use to create something like this. Well needed.

While I do feel like some good has come from the use of AI, I also feel conflicted because at what point does skill matter? At what point will it matter how much time you put in to mastering these skills and learning programs and functions?

Like I said, this has discouraged me in so many ways to even create things like this anymore. I used to do these larger than life pieces on the daily, as a warm up before I started my day. I would be on the train headed I to Manhattan to go to my first design internship before my production artist job at night. It was a real grind.

I’m just afraid that now the grind and determination to succeed in this creative field, will eventually be lost to automation and the lost art of doing it yourself. 🤷🏾‍♂️

The way painters still paint and pianists still play the piano, I have hope that real will still exist in the future.
