The FC1 Si is a stock 1.5T wearing a leash, and $7K is roughly what it costs to take it off. Save this one, because the order matters more than the parts.

1. Buy the newest one you can. Shop late-build cars first and put the savings toward mods, not toward someone else's deferred maintenance. Service records beat mileage every time.

2. Tune before you touch a wrench. A Hondata FlashPro or KTuner is where the L15 actually wakes up. Everything you bolt on later is just giving the tune more room to work. Bolt-ons on a stock map are expensive noise.

3. Open up the airflow. Downpipe, intake side, and charge piping are how this little turbo motor breathes its way toward the 250 WHP mark. Fair warning: the "quick downpipe swap" is a one-afternoon job that becomes a full Saturday, two YouTube videos, and one bolt you only find with your forehead.

4. Pay the clutch tax up front. The factory clutch was sized for factory torque. Add power and it'll let you know, usually in third, usually on a nice on-ramp. Budget for it now so it's a line item and not a tow.

5. Make the power usable. 250 wheel horsepower through the front tires is just wheelspin without real rubber. Flush fitment lands at 18x8.5 +35. Wrap it in something sticky and the Si finally puts down what the tune promised.

The recipe: late-model FC1, tune, breathing mods, upgraded clutch, 18x8.5 +35 with real tires. About $7K and roughly 250 WHP. That's a Civic that stops apologizing to Type R owners at the light.
