There is a trillion dollar treasure sitting at the bottom of the ocean.

And I’m not talking about shipwrecks or pirate’s gold.

I’m talking about these…

Those little black rocks are baseball sized deposits of metal used to make batteries.

Nickel, cobolt, copper, manganese.

Without these metals, we can’t make phones, electric cars, or any of the technology we envision for the future.

And those little metal balls are just sitting there, at the bottom of the ocean in this one zone in the middle of the Pacific.

But here’s the problem…getting those metal balls, is a bit tricky.

There are tons of countries with ships circling and researching this zone.

And it’s super unclear who has the rights to what, how it will benefit humanity, and the process for mining without disturbing the ocean environment.

Apparently there is a ton of international conflict about this.

But here’s the part I found most interesting…

The group that’s in the lead to harvest all these metals is called The Metals Company.

They built an underwater vacuum that can suck up these metal rocks with minimal disruption to the environment.

Their system uses AI and advanced sensors to create a full digital twin of the seafloor, so they can monitor everything that’s going on in real-time.

Now when it comes to tech, this mining operation matters a ton…

Because there are more battery metals in this single ocean area, than all of the land mines across the entire world combined.

So whoever controls this supply of metal rocks is gonna have a massive edge in the future.

If you care about tech, pay attention to what happens here.
