@Beabadoobee is a motherf**king rockstar. You might not have known it back when she released her debut single “Coffee” in 2017, but now the truth is inescapable. bea brought her new album ‘Pylon’ to a sold-out Madison Square Garden last night in NYC, with support from Wisp. The project is far more fiery, angry, and distorted than anything she’s done before. Still, bea made a point of saying how happy she is that her fans love both sides of her artistry, and the setlist proved it. She played soft acoustic songs from her catalog like “the way things go” back to back with volatile new ones like “In Motion.” Multiple times throughout bea’s performance, the screaming crowd lit up the Garden without her having to ask. The stage design was a recreation of the sights that she watched pass by from a tour bus window for months at a time: pylons towering over a stretch of grass, powerlines dangling overhead. The impressive pyrotechnics made the rage and isolation in her lyrics hit even harder, and her touring band brought every ounce of that weight to the stage. At one point, bea stopped to share, “This was never the plan really. I actually really wanted to be a nursery teacher if I’m being honest. This is so hard to comprehend at times, but I’m so extremely, extremely grateful that this is my life—and that you’ve given me this opportunity to be able to do this […] I wouldn’t do anything else in the world, and I’ve come to that conclusion.” _ #pigeonsandplanes #beabadoobee #turnstile #pylon #msg
