## Caption

Some people daydream about fenced backyards and spare rooms. Writer Caroline Mullen dreams of city stuff: reliable public transportation, her choice of walkable coffee shops, and running into friends on the street. But big-city life comes with small, cramped living spaces, and all kinds of organizational dilemmas, including: How do you comfortably fit shoes, clothes, and living essentials in a tiny hallway?
