Phoenix had waited 17 years for another shot at an NBA championship. 🏀☀️

On June 9, 1993, the Suns took the floor at America West Arena for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against Michael Jordan and the defending champion Chicago Bulls.

Phoenix’s starting five that night featured Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Richard Dumas, Charles Barkley and Mark West.

Barkley had just won NBA MVP after averaging 25.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists while leading Phoenix to a 62-20 record, the best in the NBA.

The Suns dropped Game 1, but pushed the series to six games, including an unforgettable triple-overtime win in Chicago. Their championship run ultimately ended when John Paxson hit the go-ahead three with 3.9 seconds remaining in Game 6.

More than 30 years later, this starting lineup intro still hits different. 😮‍💨🔥

Who remembers this Suns team? Who was your favorite player from the ’93 squad? 👀
