A Mesa professional boxer is accused of taking the life of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son and abusing his own 1-year-old child.

Police arrested 23-year-old Kishawn Porter after the toddler was rushed to a hospital early September 29 and passed away from his injuries. Doctors noticed suspicious bruising and contacted police.

Investigators say the toddler had both recent and healing injuries, raising concerns about ongoing abuse.

Porter faces first-degree murder and child abuse charges, with bond set at $1.5 million cash-only. Allegations involving his 1-year-old had not yet been formally submitted to prosecutors as of the October 1 report.

Two combat sports promotions have also cut ties with him.
