Buying a home in Arizona is still out of reach for a lot of people 🏠😳

The typical Arizona home is now worth around $418,000, according to Zillow. While home values have actually fallen about 1.1% over the past year, affordability remains a major problem. 

One of the biggest reasons is the cost of borrowing. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate reached 7.28% this week, compared with 6.34% at the same time last year. That can add hundreds of dollars to the monthly payment on a typical Arizona home. 

For perspective, the typical home in Phoenix is around $406,000, while the typical home across Maricopa County is around $456,000.
