The photos were taken in the New River before Hurricane Helene swept through many parts of Appalachia, devastating many communities throughout. Many of these communities are suffering long-term water, power, and supply issues. Efforts are in place to help these communities, but sadly, the death toll topped 200 yesterday. Amelia and I were both raised in Appalachia, and our community and those surrounding us have been impacted. Amelia is doing a lot in efforts to help our community by gathering and purchasing supplies and dropping them off at drop-off locations. She also recently performed at Harmony for Harm Reduction, where ssdpvirginiatech raised over $500 for local harm reduction resources. She and so many others are working endlessly to help rebuild and recover. It’s hard to be so far away; I wish I could do more. I know it’s not a lot, but every dollar I make doing photography over the next few weeks, I will donate 20% of the total value to hurricane relief and recovery. Thank you to those who are helping in the recovery and aid process; you are truly heroes.

I also want to say thank you to ameliaempson for always trusting me in my creative process. Every time I photograph her, I feel like I truly create art as a result. She’s such an incredible person, friend, and musician, and I’m beyond grateful to have her in my life. She has supported me and my business from the start, and I can’t thank her enough for trusting me along the way. She’s working on some new music, so please keep an eye out. In the meantime, please take some time to check out her socials and stream some of her music wherever you get your tunes.

Love you so much, Amelia. Thank you.

IT WAS ALSO SOOOO AMAZING GETTING TO SEE magatha_willywomp THEYRE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE TEAM 🫶🏻
