HOSTING TIP - MAKE BIG MOMENTS BIGGER 🗣️🎙️

A championship introduction. A heartfelt tribute. A celebration that sends the whole stadium into another gear.

Each deserves its own delivery.

As we build toward the Banana Bowl, I’ve been thinking about the choices that make a big moment feel as important as it is.

My outfit sets an expectation. My posture communicates before I say a word. My vocal inflection, physical movement, and verbal pacing help shape what the crowd feels.

Sometimes I want anticipation. Sometimes I want joy. Sometimes a moment needs enough space for people to feel how sweet it is.

The question I start with is simple:

What should this moment feel like?

Then I can make deliberate choices. Where to stand. When to move. Which word to emphasize. When to slow down. When to let the audience’s reaction carry the moment.

Coaches, teachers, and leaders make these choices, too. A team talk, an introduction, or a recognition moment carries more weight when your delivery supports what you’re saying.

Try this: say “This is the moment” three ways—with anticipation, tenderness, and jubilation. Notice how much changes without changing a single word.

What’s an introduction, announcement, or speech you still remember because of how it was delivered?
