Spiritual Thought!!
As I was talking to President this week, he asked me a simple question: Are you happy?

I quickly responded and told him I was so happy. I told him my mission has given me the opportunity to feel so much happiness, but a different type of happiness. A type of joy I have never felt before.

He shared 2 Nephi 2:22-25 with me:

22 If Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but would have remained in the garden of Eden (...)
23 And Adam and Eve would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin.
24 But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.
25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

The Fall of Adam and Eve was all part of God’s plan. I’m so grateful because of them I am here. Because of them I have agency. Because of them I get to feel joy.

Not every day is going to be full of joy. This life wasn’t meant to be easy. But it’s because of the hard moments that we know what joy actually feels like. Without the contrast, we wouldn’t even recognize it.

Choosing joy and happiness is a choice. That is something I have learned while being out here.
It’s not always easy, but when you look for it you’ll find it. There is so much joy to be found, and so much joy to be felt!!

My challenge for all of you this week:
Look for joy in the little things. Put a smile on your face. Laugh. Don’t take life too seriously. We were made to feel and experience joy!

This gospel is JOY.
Jesus Christ is JOY.
Life is full of JOY.

I love you all!! Até a próxima segunda!💛
