## Caption

Beck and I were able to do a quick backpacking trip just over a week ago to Red Castle in the Uintas. We hiked 10 miles in on Thursday and 10 miles back out on Friday. A fast trip for sure.

After 20 miles in about 24 hours, we definitely felt it in our feet. Beckham especially felt it on his recovering knee. Even so, I wouldn’t trade that time together for anything. In such a short window, we learned, grew, laughed, pushed ourselves into discomfort and experienced several tender mercies from the Lord. I am so grateful to have seen His hand in our lives on this trip. He is everywhere, keep your eyes and heart open, He is in the details. 

God’s creations in these remote places are simply breathtaking. I probably took 20 photos of those towering red cliffs at different hours of the day as the light shifted and the sky changed colors. Each one seemed more incredible than the last.

Trips like this also leave me deeply grateful for a healthy body that allows me to experience places like this. It gives me even more desire to care for it, strengthen it, and keep it ready for whatever adventure or opportunity the Lord places in my path next.

I am grateful for a son to experience these adventures with. He’s a stud. He draws people in and everyone loves being around him. I’ll take any time with him that I can get, even if it means loading up a pack and waking into the wilderness.
