Our dear brother Adriano Costa in Brazil wrote two songs about our beautiful missionary daughter, Kenzie, and the journey she is on as a witness of Jesus Christ.

He and his wife have welcomed Kenzie into their home and hearts, loving her like a daughter. Their kindness has helped give her an incredible start to her mission and has been a tremendous blessing to our family.

I’ll share the second song as well, but the lyrics in both are absolutely beautiful. What a gift. What a blessing. We are so grateful for the love, friendship, and support they have shown our daughter as she serves the Lord.

Every Step Will Be Worth It

[Verse 1]
Long days
New names
New streets
Words on your tongue
That won’t come out neat

You kneel
Floor cold on your knees
“Pai Celestial”
Still catching in the breeze

[Pre-Chorus]
But heaven hears the halting phrase
The broken accent
Learning faith
Angels lean a little close
When courage starts this slow

[Chorus]
Every step will be worth it
Every tear
Every tired night
Heavenly Father is near you
Walking right there by your side
You will testify of Jesus
Even when the words feel weak
Hope and faith in the Lord’s kind hands
Will carry you where you can’t see

[Verse 2]
Doorways
Smiles you don’t yet know
Laughing so fast
You miss half the joke

Still you
Offer what you can
A hymn
A verse
A folded-up plan

[Bridge]
Sister Farnes
He knows your name (oh)
He called you long before you came
He sees the nights you feel alone
He whispers
“Daughter
You are known”

One day you’ll hear their children sing
Stories of the truth you bring
In every “obrigado” said
My gospel grew
My kingdom spread

[Outro]
So walk on
Heart in His hands
Your mission will succeed
It’s written in His plans
