FEED MY SHEEP

I felt this as a literal and personal command the first time I heard this sermon from Jeffrey R. Holland. I will never forget the power of this life-changing discourse.

I was already committed as a covenant disciple of Jesus Christ, but something deeper stirred in my soul that day, a call to greater consecration and devotion to my Savior.

“Feed my sheep.”

That simple command to someone who loved Him caused Jenna and me to reflect on how we could truly live it. As a young couple, we offered what little loaves and fishes we had and placed them in the Lord’s hands to bless His children.

With time, perspective, and a growing love for God and His children, we have seen Him multiply those efforts in ways we never could have imagined. Today, that offering, those loaves and fishes, has become over 11 million meals provided to those in need through our @mtnops Conquer Hunger initiative. 

I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve, and we will continue to give everything we can to bless as many of God’s children as possible.

As much as I love feeding God’s children physically, I know that food will perish.

But those who partake of the Bread of Life, even Jesus Christ, will never perish.

His call to discipleship burns in my heart more than anything else, a lifelong, forever commitment.

And if He needs someone to feed His sheep, to preach His gospel, to defend His faith, when He looks for those who love Him, I pray He finds me ready, willing, and anxiously engaged in His work.

He needs forever disciples who love Him. How will He know? By our feeding, serving, sharing, and loving His sheep. With all my honor and soul I truly, truly do love Him. He is my Savior and my Redeemer.
