There’s something powerful about how the Lord connects His children.

One of the first families to have Kenzie over for dinner in Brazil was the Costa family. They’ve been such a blessing to her. They even sent us a picture of her with them right after she arrived, which meant more to us than they probably know.

Then something unexpected happened.

We found out their son is serving right here in our area in Utah.

So this past week, Jenna and I had the chance to take him and his companions, all three from Brazil, out to dinner. 

What a tender mercy. The Costas are caring for our daughter, and here we are trying to care for their son. Each of them giving their time, their hearts, and their lives to the Lord.

We asked these young elders what they’re learning right now, and we loved their answers:

“The mission humbles you and helps you lean on and trust the Lord.”

“My mind is at peace right now. All is well with my soul.”

“The blessings of obedience are real.”

One shared how much he loves his mission president and how he wants to become like him. What a reminder of the influence these leaders have on these young, devoted disciples.

They also spoke about their desire to find the one each day. The one searching for peace. The one ready to receive the Savior.

The spirit of missionary work burns deep in our hearts. What a blessing to spend time with these faithful servants and to have one from our own family out serving.
