Got joy?

roguerunnerfilms sent me this photo from a recent Conquer Hunger event and I thought to myself….I look happy. And the truth is, I am. In this moment, there are a few reasons why.

I was at a MTN OPS Operation Conquer Hunger event surrounded by team members I love. Team members who truly live to serve others.

We were about to pack 25,000 meals for families in need, with one of our retail partners. I am so grateful for good partners and connections.

We are building a business that is seeing success and growth, and choosing to use that success to bless the lives of others who may be in a harder season.

In this moment, I’m speaking to a room of a few hundred people about my God and my family. Nothing brings me more joy than them.

I love speaking of my God.
I love speaking of Jesus Christ.
I love the miracles He performs in our lives, multiplying our loaves and fishes.

Here’s the truth….Every face in these photos has a story. And not all of them are easy. Some carry real heartache. Some have walked through things they never wish upon anyone. And yet, you can see their joy!

When you pull back the curtain, you begin to understand what makes joy possible.

Joy isn’t the absence of pain. It’s what can come because of it. It’s what comes when we lift our eyes outward and upward.

President Nelson taught that the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.

I’ve seen it time and time again. Packing meals. Serving others. Sharing a message and a witness of Jesus Christ. Finding perspective in the pain. Reaching out to the one God places on your path.

That’s where joy resides.

Want joy? Go give it!
