A moment I’ll always remember. You can’t steal his joy.

A MTN OPS / HUSH film is being produced by our partners at Hush about this hunt I recently went on with my dear friend Brian and his son Matt.

What an honor and blessing to take this father and son on their first hunt, to witness their first harvest, and to feel the spirit of this moment. This smile is forever seared into my memory. You’re looking at a man whose joy you cannot steal.

Brian is climbing a mountain none of us would ever want to face. Just nine months before this hunt he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a large brain tumor. He has undergone major surgery and rounds of treatment, but even this cannot steal his joy.

Around the campfire, while talking about miracles, Brian said, “We all experienced one today… we are living another day… what a blessing.”

No truer words. I hope they sink deep into my soul so that every day, and every person I share it with, I recognize as a blessing and a miracle.

In a message to friends and family, Brian and his wife shared:

“Like you, we don’t know what the future holds, but we know WHO holds our future.”

President Nelson said it perfectly:

“Anger never persuades. Hostility builds no one. Contention never leads to inspired solutions. We can literally change the world one person at a time, one interaction at a time.”

No one has to do life alone. God’s on the job.”

Can’t wait to share this film soon.
