One night this week as we were walking home to our apartment we stopped a guy named Samuel who was selling yams out of the back of his car. We stopped to talk to him, asked him where he was from and a little bit about his life. As we talked he stopped us and said “there is power in simplicity. You two simply stopped and talked with me. You both are real. Thank you.” It was so clear how much it had meant to him that we simply took the time to acknowledge him and help him feel seen. My favorite part of being a missionary is to help people feel that REAL love that comes through Christ. There is power in the gospel because it is Simple and it is Real and as we simply live it, our lives and the lives of those around us will change.
Happy 4th of July!!!
