It’s a moment to connect, celebrate, and talk about what matters most. Savvy is so beautiful, inside and out. At this age, the world starts to press in: friend groups, comparison, competition, and the pull of validation. That’s why now, more than ever, it’s our job as parents to be intentional. To help them know where their true value comes from. I gave Savvy a letter, one I’ve written for each of my daughters. In it, I shared what I see in her, how deeply her mom and I love her, how her mom is one of the greatest examples she can follow, and most importantly, what God sees: His daughter. With divine potential. An eternal destiny. We read her Young Women theme together: “I am a beloved daughter of heavenly parents, with a divine nature and eternal destiny…” Along with the letter, I gave her a ring. Beautiful, sparkling, and precious, just like her. A promise ring. A reminder of the promises she’s already made with God, and those she’ll make in the future, especially in His holy temple. We talked about the future. Staying focused on what matters most. Preparing for the life God desires for her. I’ll cherish these memories forever. My daughters are worth more than rubies and gold. And I want them to remember: Value is determined by what someone is willing to pay, and the highest price was already paid. The perfect blood of our Savior Jesus Christ, for them. If she remembers that, if she keeps Him at the center, her confidence will shine, and her value will never be in question. God made her and He does not make mistakes.
