Hallie taught us about sacrifice her last night before departing to Brazil. My brother Tim gave us a special recommendation to have our family be the first family Hallie teach as a full time missionary. 

What she shared about sacrifice was powerful and so relevant for the task at hand. I am in awe more now than I ever have been at the courage, commitment, and desire young missionaries have to put good things on hold for a time to seek after and share that which is of GREATER worth and value than anything else. 

The opportunity to sacrifice is not only available to missionaries. Just this week I’ve loved watching my wife spend a good portion of time preparing a lesson she taught today at church. Her dedication was a blessing to many, including me and my children who got to learn about what she studied and shared. 

I’ve watched my daughter Kenzie’s testimony and dedication to the gospel increase this past year as she made amazing choices that increased her connection with Christ. Kenzie’s connection through the Holy Ghost to her Savior is a blessing to witness as her father. 

Beckham accepted a challenge to finish the Book of Mormon in six months, a challenge he just completed and is one that I know will bless his life forever. So proud of his daily commitment to complete that challenge. 

Little Savvy the other day asked where I have lived throughout my life. After I shared all the locations she asked, “what do they eat in Indiana?” and I told her pretty much what they eat here in Utah. Her response was “that’s where I want to serve my mission”. 😂

I am grateful for any moment, time, choice, mission, desire, and sacrifice that we can offer up as individuals and as a family. Nothing we can do will ever be enough to offer thanks we feel for the ultimate sacrifice or our Savior Jesus Christ. What a blessing and opportunity to respond to His call and to follow Him. #adventureofalifetime
