Today was a special day, for so many reasons. The family being gathered, the support of those we love and feel loved by, and the excitement for this new adventure Hallie and our family are about to embark upon.

But mostly what made this day a special day for me was witnessing my child stand boldly and with humble confidence to proclaim her witness of Jesus Christ, His life, His sacrifice, and His gospel, and that He is the true source of JOY!

Hallie gave a beautiful visual of the life she has been blessed to live thus far and the steps she’s taken that have brought her to the point of choosing to serve a mission.

Baptism being that first and vital ordinance that put her on the path as a disciple of Jesus Christ. She said something to the effect that “as a disciple of Jesus Christ I now know that I have an opportunity and responsibility to be a defender of the faith and a proclaimer of truth”. Wow…what a powerful opportunity.

Personal study, prayer, receiving answers from God to her questions in life, receiving further ordinances and making covenants with God in Holy Temples, and enduring to the end by answering any call to serve God sends her way have been her commitment and path to JOY…her path to Him.

As her Father I have many weaknesses, I don’t know much, I still have a lot to learn, but I love Jesus Christ and that is why I can let her go for a short period of time, to a foreign country, foreign language, foreign people, so that through her they can find Joy…so that they can find Him.

This is #howWEconquer - through Him.
