Hunting Day 2 : The plan was to go after Kudu for Jenna on this day and we went after Kudu. My first trip to Africa was in more of the flatter lands of Africa. On the Easter Cape where we were it was very mountainous and very beautiful but the terrain is not very forgiving. We searched high and low in those MTNs and spotted Kudu but not many old bulls until about 2 hours before dark. He had moved up top a cliff area and after it we went. We had also spotted some Fallow Deer and got word from one of the PHs that one of the Fallow Deer was a giant it might be worth it for us to stop the stock on the Kudu and go after this Deer. We quickly made our way over to a cliffs edge where we spotted a handful of fallow deer, one being an older giant and the adrenaline rush kicked in. This was not an animal on our Africa list but it is an a animal on my bucket list and it was Hallie’s turn behind the rifle. 

From off the cliff edge, Hallie placed a perfect shot on this beautiful animal from 420 yards. I was so proud of Hallie and how calm and composed she was as she took her shot. Fallow Deer don’t tend to get as large in Africa as they do in New Zealand, but this one was beyond typical for this area and the biggest that Tollie’s Africa Safaris had seen. 

Hallie loves adventure, has a smile on her face and gratitude in her heart every step of the way. Grateful to be her dad! This is #howiconquer #conquermore #mtnops #timeandattention #ilovehallie2021
