🔎 TODAY’S DAILY SIFT: THE BODY

The biggest longevity story today is not a longevity drug.

It is data.

The US government, Google DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs and the Zuckerberg backed Biohub are joining a $1.8 billion initiative designed to generate biological data from billions of cells and train AI to predict how those cells respond to drugs, genetic changes and disease.

That addresses one of biology’s biggest limitations.

AI had the internet.

Biology does not.

Its data is fragmented across laboratories, collected under different conditions and often too sparse for models trying to understand something as complicated as a living cell.

So researchers are going to manufacture the training data.

Meanwhile AI companies are beginning to simulate clinical trials before drugs reach human studies, searching for failures earlier in a process where pharma spends roughly $140 billion annually on human trials.

These developments belong together.

AI is moving from reading biology to modeling it.

The long term opportunity is a closed loop where AI predicts, automated laboratories experiment, biology generates new data and the model learns again.

That could change drug discovery.

It could also change longevity research.

The real prize is not simply discovering another molecule.

It is making human biology increasingly predictable.
