🔎 TODAY’S DAILY SIFT: THE MACHINE

AI’s next battle is not simply about intelligence.

It is about control.

Nvidia backed Reflection AI just released Beam, an open weight model built for coding, reasoning and autonomous agents. The target is clear: compete with the powerful, inexpensive open models coming from China.

Meanwhile DeepSeek is reportedly preparing to raise nearly $12 billion at a roughly $74 billion valuation while working with Huawei to optimize AI around Chinese chips.

Two ecosystems are forming.

Both want control over the model, compute and deployment layer.

Then intelligence leaves the screen.

German robotics company RobCo has crossed a $1 billion valuation as demand grows for autonomous industrial robots. Multiply Labs raised $75 million to automate manufacturing of complex medicines.

The pattern matters more than any individual announcement.

Open intelligence is getting cheaper.

Robotics is getting smarter.

Enterprises want more control.

Governments want technological sovereignty.

Eventually those forces converge.

The model becomes one component inside a much larger machine.

The real competition will be over who controls the stack that determines where intelligence runs, what it costs and what it can physically do.
