From the CAN Skills Training Employment Program 👉 to the Vancouver.Tourism.Awards!

After Ian completed his work experience nearly two years ago, VanAqua kept him on as a Guest Experience Associate.

This past summer, he was honoured for exceptional customer service! The nomination came after Ian gave a young guest a truly memorable VR experience. 🥳

Recognizing that the boy was inseparable with his stuffed otter, Ian went the extra mile. 

He put them together in the pod with matching headsets so that they could enjoy the experience together! The visit ended up being a truly magical moment for the young boy. 

It was a story that the Vancouver Aquarium and Vancouver Tourism Awards deemed representative of Ian's efforts as a whole for the past two years. 🤩

As we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month this October, it's successes like this showcase the countless capabilities of #Autistic individuals in the workplace! #DEAM
