Being a Black woman with ADHD has meant looking back at so many moments in my life and finally understanding myself a little better.

The masking. The overthinking. Trying twice as hard not to get things wrong. Being hyper-aware of how I’m perceived while my brain is doing approximately 47 things at once 😭

Getting diagnosed as an adult didn’t change who I am — it gave me language for parts of myself I’d spent years trying to figure out.

And I’m still learning.

So during both Black History Month and ADHD Awareness Month, I wanted to talk about what it can feel like when those experiences overlap. 🖤

Did you recognise parts of yourself differently after learning more about ADHD?
