## Caption

It’s often mistaken for a church, but this downtown building was actually our post office 📬➡️

It was dedicated by President William Howard Taft in 1912, marking the completion of a major expansion that brought it to its current size. The original section dates back to 1884, when it ran primarily along State Street.

Built to house federal offices, the building served as the city’s main post office and customs office, as well as both district and circuit courts.

Its Romanesque Revival architecture features stone masonry, medieval ornamentation, and decorative floral details, all contributing to its church-like appearance.

The post office moved out in 1934, although a branch remained in the building until 1975.

Today, the historic building is home to the Bricker Graydon Wyatt Law Offices.
