2 years ago today, Tyla released ‘TYLA+ (Deluxe Edition).’

Tyla Laura Seethal first teased 'Push 2 Start' at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, and it became the lead new track on 'TYLA+ (Deluxe Edition).' She hinted at an expansion of her debut in an Elle interview on September 10, 2024, then announced it on October 7. FAX and Epic Records released it on October 11, 2024, adding three songs to the 14-track original: 'Shake Ah' with Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro, in which she sings in Zulu, plus 'Push 2 Start' and 'Back to You.' Ari PenSmith and Mocha Bands produced 'Push 2 Start,' which Tyla co-wrote with Corey Marlon Lindsay-Keay, Sammy Soso, and James McCarthy.

The deluxe edition carries over the guests from 'TYLA,' which came out on March 22, 2024, including Kelvin Momo, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, Becky G, and Travis Scott on the 'Water' remix. 'Push 2 Start' followed as a single on October 25 with a video directed by Aerin Moreno. The deluxe release came days before she performed at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on October 15, and she also joined the 2024 Coke Studio lineup alongside Usher, Peggy Gou, NewJeans, and Karol G.

'TYLA' had reached number 24 on the Billboard 200 and spent five weeks at number one on World Albums, on the back of 'Water,' a number seven Hot 100 hit that won the first Grammy for Best African Music Performance. With it she became the highest-charting African female artist on both the Hot 100 and Billboard 200. 'Push 2 Start' debuted at number 88 on the Hot 100 and later dethroned 'Water' atop Billboard's U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart in late December, and the deluxe edition went gold in Norway.
