1 year ago, Oklou released new single, “viscus,” featuring FKA twigs.

Oklou (Marylou Mayniel) first performed 'viscus' live on February 27, 2025, months before FKA twigs (Tahliah Debrett Barnett) joined it. The track was written by Mayniel, Danny L Harle, Casey Manierka-Quaile, and Barnett, and produced by Oklou and Harle. It opens with the whimsical synths and left-field pop sound of her album 'choke enough,' which Ethel Cain called pop music for bugs. The lyrics draw on stomach pain, a struggle both artists share, and Oklou has said she uses the song to talk about her body as a conflicting relationship.

Oklou revealed 'viscus' in a Pitchfork interview on October 1, 2025, and shared the cover art the next day. The video, directed by Gil Gharbi, premiered on October 7 with the single following on October 9. It opens with Oklou sensing a presence in her home, then finding twigs in her garage, and its uneasy, queasy mood echoes the song's theme. Dazed also visited the shoot, noting how Oklou's folklore-meets-rave world and twigs' techno-warehouse 'Eusexua' era both explore human themes through digital production.

'viscus' arrived as the headline addition to the deluxe edition of 'choke enough,' which came out digitally on October 30, with a vinyl release set for November 28. The announcement came as year-end lists approached and the album was drawing wide acclaim. It marked the first collaboration between Oklou and FKA twigs, pairing two of the more adventurous voices in left-field pop.
