Florida State head coach Luke Loucks tells the incredible story of how the Seminoles landed Sebastian Rancik.

After Rancik had an incredible visit to Florida State, Kentucky entered the picture — and Loucks knew FSU couldn’t let one of its top transfer targets get away. The solution? An 18.5-hour trip to Slovakia to meet Rancik’s mother while Sebastian was visiting Kentucky.

Loucks details the last-minute flights, a marathon day with Rancik’s family in Bratislava, Mark Pope calling during dinner and the FaceTime that finally delivered the news: Sebastian Rancik was coming to Tallahassee.

It’s a wild look inside modern college basketball recruiting and the lengths Luke Loucks and Florida State will go to build relationships and bring talent to FSU.
