Someone once asked me if I even lift.
Back then I didn’t have much of an answer. 
Just a bar, a bowl of chalk, and a wall I’d started marking.

Look closely and you’ll see a gap in those marks. 
A stretch where I stopped. 
Life got busy, the days got shorter, and the wall just waited for me.

Then I came back. 
Pulled from the floor. 
Pressed from the bench. 
One more mark.

Strength has layers, and most of them nobody sees. 
Not the heavy days. 
The first day after the gap.
